  2. A signature card is used as verification to see if it is really you. For example, when you go to open a seftey deposite box, your signature is compared to the signature on the card. This prevents fraud.

  3. A checking account's signature card is a card that identifies a signature of the depositor in order to make a payment of funds or a transaction with a business. It is important because if you don't have this signature card, people can easily take money out of your account and steal possibly your identity.

A checking account's signature card is designed for security reasons. On the signature card a person signs their name and that will now be the signature required to activate the checks. Only your signature will work towards these.

It is a form signed by someone who wishes to open an account at a financial institution. They are used to establish ownership of the account (I imagine this would be quite important) and can be used identification purposes (checking signatures, also important).

  21. The reason you have a signature card is to verify your signature. They make you do one before you start a savings account so that they can have proof of your actual signature. Every time you write out a check they can use your checking account's saving card to know and reassure themselves that you're actually signing the checks and not someone else. This can help preven credit card theft as well as identity theft.
