  1. Emma Thompson - Look! I included my last name this time.

I have a feeling that most job resumes end up in the trash because they're pretentiously long. They're so long, in fact, that any employer gets bored looking at the thing.

Besides, there's only so much a piece of paper can tell someone about another. The fact is, unless the resume is pretentiously long, you couldn't come close to knowing a fraction of a single percent about a person.

I would imagine that an actual conversation tells more than a piece of paper, but that's just me. I'm just a kid who knows nothing.

I think that most Jobs resumes end up in the trash is because you cann not get to know someone from a paper. You need to meet then in person and get to know there personality. anyone can tell you what you want to here on paper but in person its much harder to lie to. you can see if they dress well for the job and if they have good maners. Thats why in most jobs, resumes end up in the trash.

  3. I believe that most job resumes end up in the trash because they are unorganized, and look like they belong there. If a job resume has errors on it the employer will automatically feel that you are irresponsible and are not qualified for their business. If a resume is unorganized or has a lot of white space the employer will not want to look at it.

  4. i guess one of the reasons is that there are to many. since getting a job now is tough. people are applying left and right for one. some people are also overqualified "a meaningless word in my opinion" for jobs like in say burger king.

  5. There are many reasons job resumes get trashed. One is they could have written it wrong, leaving out important information. Another is they could have put no resources down so the job couldnt tell if they were a good worker or not. One last reason is beacause the person seeking the job wrote everything down on the resume that they didnt have anything prepared to say when they were interviewed

I think most job resumes end up in the trash because of bad interviews. Some people are just bad speakers and may portray themselves in the wrong way. Giving off a nonconfident vibe can definently make an employer have second thoughts about you. It could also be due to lack of experience. I dont really believe many people look at education or grades as much as they do experience. If anything experience will hold you over in the working world and not so much degrees.

Most job resumes end up in the trash at qualifing jobs because many people really dont know exactly what to put on their resumes, as such as things that have no context to do with the job qualification. And also many resumes end up in the trash because jobs collect so many that some of the resumes are not up to pair.

  8. I believe that the reasons most resumes end up in the garbage is because they are either completely unlikely to be true, the person's resume doesn't meet the requirements of the job, or there are errors on the resume. You always hear of people "padding" their resume with things, such as speaking a language fluently that the applicant figures no one else will know. Also, many people will apply for a job that they aren't permitted to do. Many people will also not proofread their resumes and will end up with stupid mistakes.

  9. The reason most job resumes end up in the trash might be because its not set up the correct way. It may not be what the employers looking for in an employee. Their could be a lot of errors. They may not have what the job is looking for.

When I was reading that resume I felt that it was too long and that the person wasn't getting to the point. When reading a piece of paper people want it to be short and straight to the point. There's only so much a person can tell about himself on a piece of paper, meeting people in person is a more efficient way of learning about people. Also in a job where customers have to look at the person you need to make sure that the person looks clean and nice looking.

  11. There are many reasons why job resumes are thrown in the trash. If you're a normal person then usually all resumes are loolked at the same. Other than that most of the time they are looked at according to previous jobs and and specific skills an individual may have. The person with more experience will most likely get the job. They might be thrown away for that reason or many others. Applicants are subjected to their own record. If they have comitted former ofenses or have been arrested then this can cost them a job. There is a great pleathra of reasons but I belive these are the main ones.

  12. I believe the primary reason that most resumes end up in the trash is that they have been poorly completed. The resumes could have be done wrong or be fairly empty. The person resumes could show how unqualified they are for the job that they are applying for. I also believe that if you have spelling errors or your email account is an unprofessional name they will not even look at your resume.

  13. The reason most job resumes get in up in the trash. Could be that it wasn't writed rifht so the people didn't even bother to finish it. Maybe the person had a record and the job wouldn't except convicts. Also the person wasn't dressed the right way while handing it in, so the people adsumed that person wasn't right. For what ever the reason, if you need to be pepared to not get a call back.

  14. The primary reasons that most resumes end up in the trash are length and formating. If a resume is too long, the employer is not going to want to take the time to read it. Also, if a resume is not properly formated, the employer will think less of you right from the start. Not only will the resume not look as good as others, it will show that you did not spend a lot of time making it.

Most job resumes end up in the trash for many reasons. I believe that job openings are first come, first served. Showing that the potential employee shows determination and applies first should be rewarded. Also, most jobs have requirements. Some jobs will hire handi-caped, young, or old citezens to promote their sales to make themselves look better to other competeing organizations.

  16. There may be a few reasons why that mos resumes end up in the trash. The first reason might be the length of the resume. If there is too much information and most of it is useless, the reader is not going to read it, Especially if most of the information is bragging about you and how great you are. You don't need to include everything you have done in your life, and put it on a piece of paper.

  17. I believe the primary reason job resumes end up in the trash is because employers aren't necessary looking for what you have already done, but they are interested in what your are like now, which is why they have interviews. Also, many resumes are done wrong and aren't complete, or they are set up wrong. And lastly, many resumes end up in the trash because they get so many potiental employers and they can't keep them all.

  18. There are many reasons why job resumes end up in the trash. Some primary reasons why most job resumes get thrown out are the person reviewing them might expect more out of the person. They also might not be looking for the kind of experience the person has. The people applying might not have a lot of education or training that’s required for the job. Also, people sometimes put so much on their resume that the person reading might get bored and just throw it out.

  19. I think that many resumes end up in the trash is because the people appling for the job is what they were looking for. Either they didnt have the right degree or there could have been spelling mistake on the resumes. Some employers see a mistake like that right into the trash it goes. Other reasons maybe during the interview you didnt know what you were talking about. These are some reasons why resumes end up in the trash.

  20. There are probably many reasons why job resumes are thrown in the trash. One reason is probably that its long and not that much is learned about the person that way so they dont know if they are right for the job. Thats all i can think of why most job resumes end up in the trash

Most job resumes are ending up in the trash because they're too long to read that the employer gets bored just by looking at the piece of paper. Some people only need to know a few details of that person. Depends on what company they will be working for.

  22. The primary reasons that most job resumes end up in the trash is because they don’t care about you. It’s all about your personally if you don’t have a good one. They don’t want you. If you make them long they don’t want to sit there and read the hole thing you should make it short

  23. There can be many primary reasons that most job resumes end up in the trash. One reason can be that the person who is viewing the resume knows that the person is giving false infomation on the their resume. Another reason can be that their resume is not set up correctly. People also might not have double checked their writing and may have made many mistakes. A silly mistake is that people might put their resume on colored paper, that tells the person who is reviewing it that they are not taking it seriously and it is thrown out immediately.

  24. i guess one of the reasons is that there are to many. since getting a job now is tough. people are applying left and right for one. some people are also overqualified "a meaningless word in my opinion" for jobs like in say burger king. another reason is that sometimes people just write way to much. an employer dosent want to read a book on why he should hire you

The reason most resumes end up in the trash is because most employers do not read them. Resumes are just paper, they do not explain the person, they just list credentials... and credentials do not make the employee. If employers based how they hire off of resumes alone, then they would lose some valuable employees who could be a great benefit to the company.

I think that most resumes end up in the trash because the formatting is off, the information is useless or unnecessary and the overall layout of the resume is unorganized. If there are any errors in spelling or grammar the employer will not take the resume seriously. Also, originality and creativity can influence an employer’s decision. If the resume is boring and dry, you can’t make a lasting impression on the employer.

  27. I think most job resumes end up in the trash because people do not know how to properly apply their assets to job resumes. Everyone has certain talents that might be useful to a job, it’s how you set that up that catches someone’s eye, that someone being your hopeful employer. Most people are unaware of the traits they really have and how useful they are, do they don’t put them down. The resumes with nothing, or near nothing written down in the talents section of most resumes get thrown in the trash, no one wants to hire someone with no skills.

Most job resumes end up in the garbage because the length of them are to long. No one wants to sit there and read a resume thats like a thousand words. There are also a lot of resumes for the same job. You cant get to know someone from a peice of paper either, meeting the person is the best way to go.

  29. Allisyn Shindle

The reason most resumes are rejected I believe is because no one truly writes why the man or women hiring should invite you for an interview. If you consistently write about your past experiences as opposed to why you have the skills necessary for the job you are applying for it will get thrown into the trash. Also, if you do not catch the interviewer’s attention within the first thirty-seconds, it will go into the trash also. They have many more resumes to read and do not have patience.

I think that the main reason is the lack of creativty. A resume is suppose to stand out beoyond others and be specials. Employee look for someone who can do things beyond others. It is an important skill that usually is given to certain person, but can also be gained through hard work and seek of knowledge.

Most resumes end up in the trash because they do not stand out to employers. They lack details that make you as a worker seem much less appealing. You may not seem like you have a good prior experience or are qualified for the job. Also you want to have special skills that catch the employers eye and make him want to hire you. Also try to make an impression when handing in the resume so you are more likely to get the job.

Job resumes get trashed for various reasons, I suppose. One of the most important reasons is the employer gets bored reading a dull resume. You should spice up your resume and make it stand out. Another reason is simply because the person doesn't reach the standards needed for the job. Then they obviously would not get the job.

There are many reasons that job resumes get trashed. Some reasons are because some adults lack in the knowledge department. Some adults don’t know how to write a good paper. Adults don’t understand how to write a well written paper about themselves and why they want the job. Another reason is personality; some people in the world are mean, and rude. No one knows how to be polite, or understanding. Right away everyone gets into an argument or yells or starts a fight. Civilized people should learn how to cope with everyday personal problems, without making a scene. And the most important reason is communication ability. Most people walk into an interview and all they say is they want this job because it pays well, or I just need a job. When you go into an interview you need to be ready to explain more than one reason why you want the job and you also need to know how to talk about yourself, and you need to make yourself sound good.

I would say that most job resumes end up in the trash because they go off topic. Also the employer could be looking for certain qualities, and the person just does not have them. Another thing is someone could be over qualified. Another thing is sometimes a company will get to many resumes, and they will have the amount of people they are looking to hire.

  35. Josh Poinsett

The reason most job resumes end up in the garbage is because some people could put the wrong information down and by the look of the person it could be obvious. Another reason is the you cant really get to know a person and who they really are by a piece of paper. Most places that hire probably loose alot of good people by just throwing there resumes away.

There are many reasons as to why job resumes end up in the trash. Most people's resumes aren't looked at because they are not organized. Some end up as just listing their respective activities and past jobs and are not detailed enough or organized. Other resumes just don't have enough infromation on them. They aren't bothered by elite employers who are looking for the best employees.

There are several reasons why many job resumes end up in the trash. They include the length of the resume, as well as the formatting of it. A person reading the resume might get bored reading the resume if it contains to much information. He or she might also feel that the person applying may be over qualified. If the resume is not properly formatted, the person reading the resume will see that as a sure tell sign that the person applying is not serious about the job.

Most job resumes end up in the trash because employers can not tell who or what a person is like by writing on a piece of paper. It does indeed give you some helpful information but everything in person is so much better and realistic. You can tell what a person is like by the way they dress, act, and their manners.

There are many reasons why resumes go into the trash. Getting a job now a days in tuff so I feel like the jobs are going to be first come first served. Also because getting a job is hard people will just apply to whatever comes up and they may not qualify to do the job.

  40. I feel that most job resumes end up in the trash because they are really, really long. I mean even the most patient employer would get bored reading even the first one, let alone the fifeteen...thousand they read every single day.

I think that most people take to much time on thier resume and not about getting properly dressed, what questions will be asked, etc.

  41. Rachel Freitas

I think the primary reasons that most job resumes end up in the trash is because they don’t see who you really are by writing. It is easier to lie on paper, but to go face to face and talk it’s a lot harder to stretch the truth. Most people that lie on paper will not get that job because they can tell when someone is lying even though it’s writing on paper. This is why you should go in for an interview and show them who you really are and how you interact with people

Most job resumes are thrown in the garbage. The people that make the resume may make it boring and long, therefore they are thrown in the garbage. No one likes to read the same old boring resumes that are the same as everyone elses. Make your resume stand out and maybe it wont end up in the trash. Another reason they may end up in the garbage is because people may forget to put their names on it (sometimes). One last reason most resumes end up in the trash is because of the wrong grammer and spelling. this shows how the person writing the resume is lazy.

Many job resumes are thrown in the garbage for many reasons. The most common reason is that the interviewrs don't get the answers they want. resumes are just a way to target certain employees not to pick them. the resume is just a piece of paper that helps the employer pick the best candidate not the actual employee. many people also have trouble filling out this form because you want to put the right information on it.

  44. Dale Powell
The reason resumes end up in the trash is because most of the time the information on the resumes are unecessary, unorganized, and have nothing to do with the job. You need a resumes that is going to stick out and let the boss or the person who is hiring really look into your resumes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kayla Prendergast

The reason most job resumes end up in the trash can be because many jobs are cutting back the number of workers because of the economy. Many places can not hire as many people as they want because they can’t pay them. Managers have to be very strict to only get the best of the best. Therefore the biggest reason resumes are thrown out is because of spelling errors.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Barry Harris

I think many job resumes ends up in the garbage because the resume may be not all the way completed. Also, the resume may have sloppy writing and uncorrect spelling. My last reason is the resume may not have enough information about the person who is trying to get a job.

Since the jobs of the U.S. are going down so are job resumes. People can not apply to jobs if they can not work their. THe more that jobs go down in amount the more pople will stop making job resumes. So basicly job resumes will go back up when the jobs are a better amount.
