  5. Some things you should think about before going to a job interview are to research what you will be doing and will have to do at the job. If you don't know it you might end up having to do that just for your interview and if you do not know how to do it, well your not getting that job. Another thing you should do is talk with someone who already works at the job. They can fill you in on many details of it and even tell you what their interview is like. Also Make sure that you have your resume done right. if its not in order, too long, or just not professional they will jsut throw it in the trash with all the other bad ones.

    1. Shower, groom, and get a hair cut (because no one wants to look at some slovenly guy with hair down to his knees).
    2. Bring that resume the HR manager will inevitably throw out. (It's the effort that counts, right?)
    3. Research the guy who could be employing you.
    4. Spit out the gum (because that's just unprofessional).
    5. Make sure you know how to get there (because arriving late is just pathetic due to the invention of MapQuest).

  19. Things that you should do before going on a job interview may be long and tedious, but are necessary if you want a job. Before you go on a job interview you should dress appropriately in suitable attire. If your looking to pick up a job no one wants to see a person with bum like appearence, it just doesn't turn anyone on. You should also come with a prepared speech which include parts talking about the job, your employer, and why you'd be good for it. This way you aren't scrambling for words on the spot, embarassing yourself and ruining your chances. Lastly come with something or even someone as proof to how good you are for example a previous boss, a video, or a powerpoint. Be different come up with new things to discuss and just be yourself.

Things you should do before going on a job interview:

    1. Dress the part. (Companies want to see that you respect their dress code and dress appropriately).

    2. Make sure you resume does not have irrelevant information. (If you put many things that are of no interest to the company they will not be interested in seeing if you qualify).

    3. Make sure you have a background about what the company does. (Companies do not want to learn you have no idea about what they do).

    4. Be prepared to answer: "Why would you be good for this company?" (If you stumble over this answer the company WILL know you are only interested in the money.)

    5. Take a deep breath, and be yourself. (If you seem nervous or stumble, it gives a bad impression).

    6. Think of questions about the company to ask the interviewer. ( Three to five questions is fine, and it will let the interviewer know you are interested in them as well).

    7. Use the TODAY acronym to develop additional sound bites of your experiences. (TODAY means Teamwork, Overcoming Obstacles, Duties of your past positions, Achievements, and Your strengths and weaknesses).
